The Role:
We are looking for a proactive Bookkeeper or Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. The primary focus of this role is on both bookkeeping and accounts preparation/review. Ideally, you will also have the skills or willingness to assist with personal and corporate tax matters. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working within a small, friendly practice and wants flexibility to fit around their lifestyle, such as working around school hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for a variety of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review business accounts, including for limited companies and partnerships, to a high standard.
• Prepare VAT returns and have a good knowledge of VAT
• Assist with personal and corporate tax preparations
• Utilise technology and innovative tools to improve efficiencies in internal systems and client records.
• Collaborate with clients to provide excellent service and support, answering queries and providing guidance.
• Work closely with the team, sharing ideas and supporting the practice’s growth and development.

About You:

• A Bookkeeper or Qualified Accountant (AAT, ACCA, ACA) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in both bookkeeping and preparing/reviewing business accounts (limited companies and partnerships).
• Knowledge of VAT, with an added bonus if you have experience in both personal or corporate tax.
• Tech-savvy, comfortable using accounting software, and keen to embrace new tools and processes.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a positive attitude and a genuine interest in contributing to a growing practice.
• Suitable for candidates at any stage of their career, whether looking to grow professionally or find a flexible role that fits their lifestyle.
